When working with analogue photography, taking the photo is only the first step; the darkroom is actually where the magic happens. Taking place in my studio and on-site darkroom, this hands-on workshop will start with a darkroom orientation and safety overview, followed by a discussion of printing techniques and paper options. Then the fun starts… starting with test strips, all the way through to making your final print, you’ll be able to try your hand at working with your own, or supplied negatives. The workshop includes all supplies, and sample B&W negatives to work with if you don’t have your own. Note: the darkroom is located on the third floor, and may not be accessible for those with mobility issues. You will be working with standard darkroom chemicals, gloves and goggles are recommended and will be provided for your use.
Prerequisite: none, but “Film Photography – The Camera” (Nov. 28, 2026) is highly recommended. Limited to 4 participants.
Fee: $200.00 + HST.
Register Online or call 519-827-7059 to register by phone.
